Sahanah Sharma

Founder and President

Sahanah is a diligent and driven student who has a plethora of interests ranging from science to music. She is an active participant of many clubs at her school including Model United Nations, The Reading Tree and holds an executive position in the World Health Club.

Sahanah expresses her creativity through wildlife photography, singing, playing the piano and participating in the performing arts; She has participated in various theater productions ever since elementary school.

Sahanah loves to travel and takes extensive interest in learning about various cultures and communities such as the Maasai. In addition, Sahanah is passionate about sharing opportunities and giving back to the community which has resulted in her founding Equity for Youth. She plans to pursue a career associated with science/music.

Anushka Sridhar

Vice President

Anushka is a hard-working student who loves science and research. She has showcased her science projects in numerous state, national and international competitions.

Anushka enjoys expressing her creativity through performing arts such as theatre and classical dance. She also loves making tie-dye shirts for her small business on Etsy. For over a decade, Anushka has been a part of Destination Imagination, a non-profit organization that encourages creative thinking to develop innovative solutions to address real community problems. Through her participation in this organization, she has addressed several community challenges through outreach projects.

Anushka is a 3rd-degree black belt who also teaches Taekwondo at her dojang. She plans to pursue a career at the intersection of Science, Service, and Entrepreneurship.

Melanie Cheung

Media and Marketing Director

Melanie is a high school student who is passionate about the areas of Biochemistry and Arts. She has previously written research articles for a student-led organization dedicated to creating an educational community where young women explore their passions in STEM.

Creatively, she also enjoys experimenting with different forms of art in both traditional and digital media, from painting to video editing. Melanie was recently nominated to represent her school and was selected as a champion for the AFLE French Speaking Competition (Honors Award).

She demonstrates leadership and teamwork skills as well as acts of service through her previous years of experience as a Student Leader. In the future, she plans to pursue a career in the Biochemistry/Medical field.

Yasmine Gooris

Creative Director

Yasmine is an art enthusiast and loves to visit art galleries and watch movies; sometimes, she spends her days working on portraits or reading books about mysteries.

She also loves sports and regularly goes to the gym, dances, and does archery with her family. Whenever she gets the opportunity to do so, she likes to teach local children English and help them with explaining their homework.

She hopes to keep giving back to her local and global community and pursue a career in politics and international relations.

Isha Kurlekar

Logistics Director

Isha is a theatre and choir enthusiast and has been a part of many plays and musicals since elementary school. She was recently a semifinalist at a monologue competition and made Pre-Area for the choir All-State competition.

She also participates in many volunteer organizations, such as KEY Club, We Think Feminist, and Equity For Youth, and enjoys giving back to her community as much as she can.

She plans to pursue a career in law where she hopes she can continue to help people.
